The Energy Bill ( HR 2454 ) passed on friday in the house by a 219-217 margin. I was watching it live on C-Span and was actually pretty optomistic as I saw the votes adding up for and againt the bill. With such an obvious Left Wing agenda, I was shocked to see over 45 House Democrats vote "NO" against it. But shocked in nothing compared to how completely floored I was when I saw that 8 House Republicans actually voted for the biggest taxing bill in americas history. Wait a minute, lets do the math again. The Bill passed the House by the narrowest margin of 7 votes, just 7. And what was the # of Republicans that voted for the bill again, was it.... 8 ?? Oh, and I just found out that Republican Representative, Jeff Flake of Ditrict 6, from Arizona, didnt even show up to vote, Isn't his job to represent the people in his district that put him in office on matters like this ?
I think that there is a silver lining to the outcome of the HR 2454 vote yesterday. It was pretty obvious that all the calls, emails and bombarding of the congressional reps, by the 912ers and others in this joint campaign, had an enormous impact on the vote. 219-212 was a very slim margin to win by and that was with only a 4 day effort by most of you and others fed up citizens. We have to realize that we are making ground and are efforts are being noticed. We need to continue to let our "so-called" leaders that we are not gonna sit quiet while they destroy our country. WE WILL BE HEARD !! GREAT JOB ALL WHO PARTICIPATED !!
Please feel free to contact the 8 Reps who so kindly voted in favor of passing this bill and let them know how you feel.
